TGFS and GPS Ventures fund autonomous-driving startup NAVENTIK.
Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS, Germany) and GPS Ventures (Germany) invest 2.0 million Euro into our alumni startup NAVENTIK GmbH. The Startup develops and markets the software solution PATHFINDER that realizes high-precision positioning for the mass market.
In order to speed up the development for self-driving vehicles, there will be an increased demand for high-precision positioning solutions in the next years. Founded in Chemnitz (Germany) in 2017, NAVENTIK GmbH has developed PATHFINDER as a software-based global navigation satellite system (GNSS) for cars.
Realizing security relevant driving maneuvers, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) will need more precise, robust and fully available ego-localization. Satellite Systems will play a key role within the development of this process. Nevertheless, most hardware solutions are not accurate enough to provide a minimum level of guaranteed security, especially in urban areas. Now, NAVENTIK has developed a solution that interacts with diverse sensor systems within the car in real-time to provide this certain level of security. Implementing current receiver-technologies into software is ideal for serial production in order to realize deep integration into central control units and to generate cost cutting synergies.
PATHFINDER was developed from scratch during a 6-year research and development process at the Technical University of Chemnitz (Germany). International collaborations with Volkswagen, Nvidia, Deutsche Bahn and IAV confirm the outstanding technology of the company.
The funding will help NAVENTIK to strengthen global marketing and partnerships as well as human recourses development.
